Brief Description : You will be a member of the Application Solutions Team to provide an effective, high quality service to customers for web and application development.
Qualifications Required : The ideal candidate will have an A-C grade in GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).
Vacancy Detail : In addition you will provide on-going support and to help
diagnose and resolve problems related to the solutions delivered.
The role is primarily office based and from time to time will require onsite visits. You will be expected to learn
new skills around the development arena during the course of your normal work. You will be supervised by a
Supervisor who will oversee your day to day work and provide support for your learning and development.
1. Application/Web Development
Perform key and full portions of the system development lifecycle including designing, coding, testing,
documenting, installing, and maintaining custom web and windows applications.
Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code
metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis.
Create front end graphical user interface design and or web pages using tools including Winforms,
ASP.NET, PHP, HTML, CSS and other developments tools as and when needed.
Build applications with SQL based databases, using clear SQL syntax.
Create custom reports using generally available reporting tools including MS SQL Reporting Services
and Crystal Reports.
Conduct performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation of the applications
Integrate software with existing systems.
Work with focus on Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD).
2. Customer Support
Responding to support calls including logging, updating status and call closure, following procedures.
Resolving application problems and faults in a timely manner.
Self organisation for call priority, customer care and any related requirements.
Provide user training and education to help prevent problem reoccurrence.
Maintenance of the customer hardware and call logging database to enable efficient resolution to

Skills Required : Experience of using the command line in Linux or Microsoft environments
